Vision
Create an effective Coordinated Entry (CE) system within the Balance of State (BOS) that fosters community engagement, and continuously improves through collaboration, best practices, and ongoing evaluation.
Purpose of the Workgroup:
The Utah Balance of State (BOS) Coordinated Entry (CE) Workgroup is committed to the successful development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the BOS CE system. The workgroup works in close partnership with BOS Local Homeless Councils (LHCs) to streamline CE system processes, enhancing both efficiency and effectiveness. Focused on ensuring that individuals are well-informed about the CE system and its benefits, the workgroup prioritizes education and outreach efforts within local communities. Through ongoing collaboration, evaluation, and improvement, the workgroup seeks to strengthen the CE system and better serve those being assisted.
- Developing, and overseeing the implementation of Coordinated Entry policies and procedures
- Review and updated BOS CE Policies and Procedures annually
- Educating and engaging local communities on the Coordinated Entry process
- Develop measures of effectiveness
- Monitoring system effectiveness and making adjustments as needed
- Identifying and promoting best practices statewide
Structure of the Workgroup:
- Membership structure
- Number of members: 16-20 + OHS HSC Team Staff
- Positions: 2 Co-Chairs & 1 OHS Support staff
- Meeting frequency: Monthly on third Thursday from 2-3pm
- Each LHC will designate one voting member to ensure effective decision-making. (REQUIRED)
Functions of the Workgroup:
- Measurable Goals
- Goal 1: Conduct 4-part BOS CE Policies & Procedures training to BOS LHC CE Leads.
- Goal 2: Develop measures of effectiveness that the workgroup utilizes to monitor the BOS CE system. Collaborate with the BOS PE Workgroup for possible data collection.
- Goal 3: Increase workgroup participation and new member involvement as well as member training and onboarding.
- Data collection methods: UHMIS/BNL, workgroup/CE Lead feedback, SPMs
- Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and monitor effectiveness and efficiency of the BOS CE System.
- Resources: UHMIS, BNL, HUD, BOS CE P&Ps
- Education and Awareness: 4-part training series on updated BOS CE Policies & Procedures: training materials will be provided and recorded.
Required Reporting: Quarterly report to the UT 503 Executive Committee (TBD) and the UT 503 membership during all meetings.
