Annual Point-in-Time Count: Wednesday, January 29, 2025
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for the count in communities statewide. Volunteers will work in teams to seek out and interview persons experiencing unsheltered homelessness. Find out more about the PIT Counts in areas throughout Utah below, including links on how to sign up to volunteer.
Select communities will conduct the annual count for additional days, please coordinate with your community for more information.
The Office of Homeless Services gathers this information from communities throughout the state to provide a connection to volunteer opportunities for the Annual Point-in-Time Count. Please reach out to these organizations if you are ready to be involved.
What is the annual point-in-time count?
- Find homeless persons living on the streets and gather information in order to connect them with available services.
- Help policymakers and program administrators set benchmarks to measure progress toward the goal of ending homelessness.
- Help plan services and programs to appropriately address local needs, identify strengths and gaps in our community’s current homelessness assistance system.
- Inform public opinion, increase public awareness, and attract resources.
- Create the most reliable estimate of people experiencing homelessness throughout Utah.
- And most importantly, to make a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness!
