“O God, our heavenly Father, whose glory fills the whole creation, and whose presence we find wherever we go: preserve those who travel; surround them with your loving care; protect them from every danger; and bring them in safety to their journey’s end; through Jesus Christ our Lord”

Salt Lake’s Event

This year, the service providers within Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County are teaming up to memorialize those who have passed while experiencing homelessness on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Pioneer Park (350 S. 300 W.)from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM.

History

Since 1990, across the United States, cities hold a Memorial Day Service for the people who have passed away while experiencing homelessness. The goal is to memorialize their lives each year near December 21st, or Winter Solstice, (the shortest day and the longest night of the year).
